Someone else carves the roast
A slow Sunday suits you, and this one asks very little: a good lunch, a warm room, a film if the rain sets in. Other people may be quieter than usual. Their silence need not be about you.
Love
Whoever shares your table may want to cook the roast for once, and may not quite say so. Hand over the apron. Peel the potatoes, if you must have a job, and leave the timing to them. A lunch that is twenty minutes late and made for you tastes better than you expect.
Work and money
If the car insurance renewal has landed with a bigger number than last year, spend twenty minutes this afternoon on two comparison quotes. Then ring your current insurer on Monday with the figures beside you. Loyalty is a fine quality in a friend. In an insurer, it is mostly expensive.
Body and mind
Your hands have had the cold all week: the bins, the car door, the washing line. Before bed, work some good hand cream in slowly, knuckle by knuckle, with the radio on. Comfort you can actually feel is the kind that reaches you.
