Aquarius horoscope today
The Water Bearer, 20 January to 18 February · Air, fixed, ruled by Uranus, and Saturn before it
The sky Moon in Leo, then Virgo from 8.34pm · waning crescent, 4% lit · Saturn retrograde. New moon on Friday at 4.27am, two days away.
Mend the small broken thing
Something you use every day has been slightly broken for a month, and you have been routing round it rather than mending it. Ten minutes tonight. The relief is out of proportion to the effort, which is the point.
Love
You have been arguing the principle with somebody who wanted comfort, and you were right, which has not helped either of you. Try the warm version tonight without withdrawing the point. Being kind and being correct are not in competition.
Work and money
Your read on where this is going is better than the room’s and you are about to be too clever about it. Say the plain version, once, in the meeting, and then let it sit. Being right slowly is worth more than being clever quickly.
Body and mind
Your head does not switch off on demand and the evening is when that shows. Something with a rhythm to it, a swim, a route you know, a bike with a working light, empties it better than lying still and trying. Then sleep works.
If you read nothing else
Ten minutes with a screwdriver beats a month of routing round it
The sky Moon in Virgo all day · new moon, 1% lit · Saturn retrograde. New moon tomorrow, at 4.27am.
You are allowed to have changed
Somewhere in the past year you quietly stopped believing something you used to argue about at length, and you have told nobody, because you are the one who holds positions. Positions are meant to move. That is what distinguishes them from furniture.
Love
An opinion you dropped about two years ago still gets quoted back at you by somebody close, who has no way of knowing, and you let it stand each time because correcting it feels like a scene. Say the newer version once, lightly, over something ordinary. It is a far smaller correction than it feels beforehand.
Work and money
A group you belong to runs on an arrangement nobody has revisited since it was invented, probably by you. Propose the new version in writing, with the reason for the change and no criticism of the old one. People agree to improvements far more readily when nothing has to be admitted first.
Body and mind
Your head keeps its own hours and the rest of you has given up arguing. One thing today with no purpose attached: a detour on the way home, a record played all the way through, a conversation about nothing with somebody you like. Not productive. Not a system. A gap.
If you read nothing else
Say plainly that you have changed your mind about it
And tomorrow, Thursday 10 September
You are allowed to have changed. Somewhere in the past year you quietly stopped believing something you used to argue about at length, and you have told nobody, because you are the one who holds positions.
Aquarius holds a position because it has thought about it, not because the room does. It is the friend with the unexpected view, the one who knows the strange fact, the one who has been quietly organising something useful. It is sociable in a wide way: dozens of friends, a handful of people it actually rings.
For an air sign it is remarkably fixed. Aquarius will listen to your argument with genuine interest and change nothing. It can also be cooler than it means to be, defending the principle while the person in front of it wanted only to be comforted, and it is at its best when it lets one person past the general goodwill.
Aquarius in love
Friendship first, always. Aquarius wants an ally with its own life and its own opinions, and it takes flight from anything that feels like ownership. It is loyal in an unshowy way and hopeless at the emotional weather report, so ask it directly and it will answer honestly.
Aquarius at work
Good where the future is the job: technology, research, campaigns, anything being invented. Aquarius sees the systemic problem while everyone else is arguing about this week's symptom. Hierarchy for its own sake gets nothing from it, and it will say so at the wrong meeting.
