Written each evening from the real sky over London ·
Aries horoscope today
The Ram, 21 March to 19 April · Fire, cardinal, ruled by Mars
The sky Moon in Leo, then Virgo from 8.34pm · waning crescent, 4% lit · Saturn retrograde. New moon on Friday at 4.27am, two days away.
Finish it before the light goes
Wednesday hands you something dull and nearly complete, and the honest thing is to complete it. The last stretch of a job is where you usually hand over to somebody else; today there is nobody to hand it to.
Love
You have been generous with your attention and stingy with your patience, which is an odd combination to live with. One person is getting the short version of you this week. Give them twenty uninterrupted minutes tonight and watch how quickly the atmosphere changes.
Work and money
Somebody senior will ask a question you can answer in one sentence, and you will want to answer in six. The short version wins today. Save the argument you have been assembling since Monday; there will be a better room for it on Friday.
Body and mind
Your temper is running about a foot ahead of your body. Physical work suits you better than a screen this evening: move something heavy, walk fast, cook. The tiredness that follows is the useful kind, and you will sleep through the night for once.
If you read nothing else
Finish the last ten per cent yourself, then stop
The sky Moon in Virgo all day · new moon, 1% lit · Saturn retrograde. New moon tomorrow, at 4.27am.
An audit you did not order
An audit is not a punishment, though it feels like one while it is happening. Saturn has been reversing back through your sign, going over ground you thought was signed off in the spring. Nothing is being taken away. Something is being checked.
Love
You cancelled on the same person twice and made a joke of it the second time. Ring rather than text, and offer a date you can keep. Being in demand is not the same as being available, and the people who like you best would rather have forty real minutes than three enthusiastic maybes.
Work and money
If a decision you made in April comes back up, and it may, do not defend it at volume. Set out what you knew at the time, in writing, in under a page. Half of it still stands. The other half you had privately stopped believing in July, which is worth admitting on paper before somebody else says it out loud.
Body and mind
Your patience runs out at about half past three, and it is usually hunger wearing a costume. Eat before then. The day has no room in it for the long session you promised yourself at the weekend, so do the twenty-minute version and stop negotiating with a plan that was never happening.
If you read nothing else
Write down what you knew in April, then judge it
And tomorrow, Thursday 10 September
An audit you did not order. An audit is not a punishment, though it feels like one while it is happening.
Aries does not wait for things to happen; it goes out and starts them. Ruled by Mars, it has the energy of the first minute: the idea arrives at breakfast and has been set in motion before lunch. That impatience can wear people out, and it is also why an Aries is the person you want in the room when something has to be decided today rather than next Thursday.
The weakness is stamina, not courage. Aries begins ten things with the same appetite and finishes three of them, and learns slowly that the finish counts as much as the starting pistol. It says what it thinks, often before it has finished thinking it, and forgives about as fast as it flares up.
Aries in love
Aries likes the chase and makes no secret of it. It needs a relationship that moves: plans, honest rows, quick reconciliations. Routine dims it. Straightforward affection, offered without a speech, disarms it completely.
Aries at work
Give an Aries a vague brief and a deadline and something will exist by Friday. It has no patience for meetings that end without a decision, and it does its best work where you are allowed to back yourself and be measured on the result.
Who Aries gets on with
Leo: Two fires that understand each other without discussing it.
Sagittarius: The same appetite for movement and the same bluntness.
Gemini: Gemini keeps up and brings the lightness Aries forgets to pack.
With Cancer or Capricorn the tempo is different. One wants gentleness, the other wants patience, and Aries has to learn both the long way round.
